Toyota develops commercial robots

Toyota via MetroExpress – Toyota Motor Corp. introduced three new models of home robots developed to help people in movement, housework, child care and elderly nursing, entertainment, etc.

One of them, for example, is designed to help people walk. It can carry people and objects on distances up to 20km without recharging batteries. It moves up to 6km/h.

Then, there is another one that has 17 flexible knuckles that enables him agility required to do housework, child care and nursing sick people.

Third one demonstrated how advanced robotics is by playing violin. Leading Japanese car manufacturer announced that robot for helping people move will hit the market at the end of year 2008 as a trial run. Full commercial placement is planed for next decade.
